Knowledge Transfer Partnerships
The Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) scheme is Europe's leading programme to support innovation in business and has been running in various forms for over 30 years, with over 3,000 firms benefiting to date. The core idea is based on creating a partnership between a business wanting to develop a new product or service, a University with relevant expertise and a specially recruited recent graduate to undertake part of the work in a collaboration between the University and the business. The scheme is supported with Government funding, so businesses can undertake a KTP for as little as £20K
To support this well proven form of collaboration between business and Universities, many Design Schools and their organisations have staff that are experienced in guiding companies through the processes leading to successfully funded projects.
